Advanced Time Studies, Bainbridge Island, WA, has introduced AccuStudy™ a computer-based time study method that lets users gather data for single or multiple time studies to improve processes. AccuStudy runs on handheld touchscreen computers running the Microsoft Windows CE� operating system. Additionally, the equipment can also be used for measuring ambient variables like solar radiation and ambient temperature and for analyzing the energy quality of conventional electricity grid supplied to typical loads in commercial and residential sectors. The equipment was used during one year for monitoring both, the performance and the energy quality of a PV power plant, interconnected to the local grid under the BIPVS (building integrated photovoltaic systems) concept, in order to test its performance and reliability. Adjust the trigger level so that it is above the maximum voltage of the input signal. Notice that the trace remains fixed and that the trigger status displayed at the top right of the display goes from Trig?d to Trig?.

Boards also are available to accept thermocouples only (or RTDs only). These boards accept all common thermocouple types, plus mV and voltage signals. Software for Windows or LabWindows/CVI™ provides a graphical user interface to set up the signal conditioners.

The system is scalable 10-60 universal inputs on a single chassis with scan speeds up to 10 msec. But still you should be aware of that sound cards are using chips that are selected to produce fair results for audio applications. The human ear is all but an exact measurement device and therefore you can get away with rather bad hardware components without most people noticing to much of a quality degradation.
